DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE
This matter coming on for a hearing on June 23, 2011 before a properly constituted panel of the Discipline Committee of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario, upon direction of a Complaints Committee of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario dated the 18th day of November, 2010, a copy of which is attached hereto, and upon hearing a plea of guilty entered on behalf of Alison Anne Houston at her direction, and upon hearing evidence adduced and representations made by counsel for the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario, no one appearing on behalf of Alison Anne Houston:
1. The panel accepts the plea of guilty by Alison Anne Houston, and accepts the evidence adduced by RIBO in support of the plea of guilty and finds that Alison Anne Houston is guilty of misconduct as set out in paragraphs 1 to 7 of the attached Direction.
2. The Panel therefore, orders as follows:
(a) IT IS ORDERED that the Certificate of Registration of Alison Anne Houston be revoked effective immediately.
(b) AND IT IS ORDERED that a recommendation be made to the Qualification and Registration Committee that they not consider any application for reinstatement by Alison Anne Houston for a period of five years, commencing from the date of this Order.
This Decision will be published in accordance with section 23 of Regulation 991 under the Registered Insurance Brokers Act, RSO 1990.
