PARTICULARS OF THE COMPLAINT:
At all material times Mr. Donald Hawkshaw was a registered insurance broker conducting business in the Kitchener, Ontario area.
As a result of information received by RIBO, it appears that Donald Hawkshaw may have committed misconduct by forwarding client information to another brokerage without the sponsored brokerage’s knowledge and/or authorization.
DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE’S DISPOSITION:
The Discipline Committee accepted the plea of guilty by Donald Hawkshaw and accepted the evidence adduced by RIBO in support of the plea of guilty, including an Agreed Statement of Fact and Joint Submission as to the penalty, signed on May 17, 2018 by Donald Hawkshaw and entered as Exhibit 2 and finds that Donald Hawkshaw is guilty of misconduct as set out above. The Discipline Committee ordered:
(a) That Donald Hawkshaw be formerly reprimanded by the Discipline Committee.
(b) That the broker pays a fine made payable to the Minister of Finance in the amount of $500.00 and to be delivered to RIBO’s office before May 24, 2018.
