MISCONDUCT:  Ontario Regulation 991, ss. 14(1)(3), 15(1)8 and 16(4)1

 

PARTICULARS OF THE COMPLAINT:

 

At all material times Mr. Trevor Paul Favaro was a registered insurance broker conducting business in the Ancaster, Ontario area.

 

As a result of information received by RIBO, it appears that Mr. Trevor Paul Favaro may have committed misconduct by accepting premium payments via e-transfer to his personal email and not forwarding them to either the brokerage or an insurance company.

 

It appeared that Mr. Trevor Paul Favaro failed to provide service to certain clients with integrity.

 

DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE’S DISPOSITION:

 

The Discipline Committee accepted the plea of guilty by Trevor Paul Favaro and accepts the evidence adduced by RIBO in support of the plea of guilty, including an Agreed Statement of Fact and Joint Submission as to penalty, signed on January 19th, 2017 by Trevor Paul Favaro and finds that Trevor Paul Favaro is guilty of misconduct as set out above.  The Discipline Committee ordered:

 

(a)          That the Certificate of Registration of Trevor Paul Favaro be revoked effective from the date of this Order.

 

That a recommendation be made to the Qualification and Registration Committee that Trevor Paul Favaro not be allowed to apply for a Certificate of Registration for a period of not less than five (5) years form the date of this Order, and only if he take and successfully complete the licensing course and examination and only with the approval of the Qualification and Registration Committee
