MISCONDUCT: Ontario Regulation 991, ss 14(3) and 15(1)8

 

PARTICULARS OF THE COMPLAINT:

 

At all material times Jacqueline Curry was a registered insurance broker conducting business in the Cambridge, Ontario area.

 

As a result of information received by RIBO, it appears that Jacqueline Curry may have committed misconduct by issuing insurance certificates confirming coverage without that particular coverage in place.

 

DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE’S DISPOSITION:

 

The Discipline Committee accepted the plea of guilty by Jacqueline Curry and accepted the evidence adduced by RIBO in support of the plea of guilty, including an Agreed Statement of Fact and Joint Submission as to penalty, signed on April 27, 2017 by Ms. Jacqueline Curry and finds that Jacqueline Curry is guilty of misconduct as set out above.  The Discipline Committee ordered:

 

(a)      That Jacqueline Curry is hereby reprimanded for her actions.

 

(b)   That a recommendation be made to the Qualification and Registration Committee that should Jacqueline Curry with to reapply for a RIBO membership that the Certificate of Registration be restricted to “Acting Under Supervision” for a period of not less than five (5) years from the date of this Decision.
