MISCONDUCT:  Ont. Reg. 991, ss. 14(1) and 14(3)

 

PARTICULARS OF THE COMPLAINT:

 

Eugene Pech failed to discharge the member’s duties to clients, member of the public, fellow members and insurers with integrity; and also failed to serve the member’s client in a conscientious, diligent and efficient manner and failed to provide a quality of service at least equal to that which members would generally expect of a member by accepting premium and failing to secure coverage for a client.  As a result of Mr. Pech’s actions, the consumer was left with a gap in their insurance coverage of approximately 26 months between January 2011 and March 2013.

 

DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE’S DISPOSITION:

 

Eugene Pech entered a plea of guilty and the Discipline Committee accepted the evidence adduced by RIBO in support of the plea of guilty.  Accordingly, Mr. Pech was found guilty and the Discipline Committee orders:

 

(a)  That the Certificate of Registration of Eugene Pech be and is hereby suspended for thirty (30) days effective November 20, 2014.

 

(b)  That Eugene Pech is reprimanded for his actions.

 

(c)   That the Certificate of Registration of Eugene Pech be restricted to “Acting under Supervision”.

 

(d)       That the Discipline Committee will make a recommendation to the Qualification and Registration Committee that they not consider removing the restriction for not less than three (3) years from the date of this Decision
