REGARDING the Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. 1.8 (the “Act”), as amended, in
particular sections 392.5 and 407.1
AND REGARDING James A. Moon
ORDER TO REVOKE LICENCE
On March 16, 2018, the Superintendent of Financial Services (“Superintendent”) issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the insurance agent licence of James A. Moon (licence# 99058209). The Notice of Proposal was sent by registered mail to Mr. Moon’s address on April 12, 2018.
Canada Post records indicate that the Notice of Proposal was delivered on April 16, 2018.
Mr. Moon had 15 days after the Notice of Proposal was given to request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in accordance with subsection 407.1(3) of the Act.
On May 7, 2018, the Registrar of the Tribunal confirmed that no request for a hearing has been received from Mr. Moon or anyone on his behalf in respect of the Notice of Proposal.
Subsection 407.1(7) of the Act provides that the Superintendent may carry out the proposal to revoke a licence when no hearing has been requested.
ORDER
The insurance agent licence (# 99058209) of James A. Moon is hereby revoked.
