REGARDING the Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.8, as amended, in particular sections 392.5 and 407.1
AND REGARDING Keshia Ashby
ORDER TO SUSPEND LICENCE
Keshia Ashby (“Ms. Ashby”) holds a life insurance and accident and sickness insurance agent licence (licence #10115739) under the Insurance Act (“Act”).
On March 16, 2018, the Superintendent of Financial Services (“Superintendent”) issued a Notice of Proposal to Suspend Licence, which proposed to suspend Ms. Ashby’s licence for a period of three (3) months on the grounds that she demonstrated incompetence and untrustworthiness to transact insurance agency business.
On April 9, 2018, the Registrar of the Financial Services Tribunal (“Tribunal”) confirmed that no request for hearing was filed by Ms. Ashby pursuant to subsection 407.1(3) of the Act.
Pursuant to subsection 407.1(7) of the Act, the Superintendent may carry out his proposal if no request for hearing is filed with the Tribunal.
ORDER
The life insurance and accident and sickness insurance agent licence of Keshia Ashby (licence #10115739) is hereby suspended for three (3) months effective as of the below date.
