REGARDING the Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.I.8 (the “Act”), in particular sections 288.5, and 288.7
AND REGARDING Ritual Med Spa Inc.
ORDER
On September 28, 2015, Ritual Med Spa Inc. (“Ritual”) applied to be licensed under the Act as a service provider.
On June 14, 2016, the Superintendent of Financial Services (“Superintendent”) issued a Notice of Proposal to Refuse Application of Ritual.
The Notice of Proposal was received by Ritual on June 21, 2016. Ritual had 15 days after receiving the Notice to request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal (“Tribunal”) in accordance with section 288.7(3) of the Act.
On July 11, 2016, the Registrar of the Tribunal confirmed that no request for a hearing has been received from Ritual or anyone on its behalf.
Section 288.7(7) of the Act provides that the Superintendent may carry out the proposal to refuse to issue a licence when no hearing has been requested.
ORDER
The application for a service provider licence submitted by Ritual Med Spa Inc. on September 28, 2015, is refused.
