ORDER TO REVOKE LICENCE
TO: Mr. Liban Mohamud operating as Albion Rehab Care
Mr. Mohamed Ismail Ashoor
On January 20, 2016 the Superintendent of Financial Services (“Superintendent”) issued a Notice of Proposal (the “Notice”) to revoke the service provider licences of Liban Mohamud operating as Albion Rehab Care bearing licence number SP15817 (the “Albion Licence”) and Mohamed Ismail Ashoor bearing licence number SP13532 (the “Ashoor Licence”). The Superintendent is satisfied that the Ashoor licence was obtained fraudulently by Mr. Mohamud and that Mr. Mohamud submitted false information on his service provider licence application in order to obtain the Albion licence. The Superintendent concluded that Mr. Mohamud is unsuitable to hold a service provider licence.
The Superintendent sent the Notice to Mr. Mohamud on February 9, 2016. Mr. Mohamud received the Notice on February 11, 2016 and had 15 days to request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal (“Tribunal”) in accordance with subsection 288.7(3) of the Act.
The Superintendent served the Notice on Mr. Ashoor effective on February 16, 2016. Mr. Ashoor had 15 days from this date to request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal in accordance with 288.7(3) of the Act.
The Registrar of the Tribunal has confirmed that no request for a hearing has been received from Mr. Mohamud o/a Albion Rehab Care or Mr. Ashoor or anyone on their behalf.
Subsection 288.7(7) of the Act provides that the Superintendent may carry out the proposal to revoke the service provider licence when no hearing has been requested.
ORDER
Pursuant to subsection 288.7(7) of the Act, the service provider licence of Mr. Liban Mohamud o/a Albion Rehab Care (licence #SP15817) and the service provider licence of Mr. Mohamed Ismail Ashoor (licence #SP13532) are hereby revoked.
