REGARDING the Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.8, as amended, in particular sections 288.5 and 288.7,
AND REGARDING 1104133 Ontario Inc.
ORDER TO REFUSE APPLICATION
On June 19, 2015, the Superintendent of Financial Services (the “Superintendent”) issued a Notice of Proposal to Refuse Licence, proposing to refuse the application of 1104133 Ontario Inc. for a service provider licence.
1104133 Ontario Inc. had 15 days after the notice was given to request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in accordance with section 288.7(2) of the Insurance Act (the “Act”).
The Registrar of the Tribunal has confirmed that as of August 19, 2015, no request for a hearing has been received from 1104133 Ontario Inc. or anyone on its behalf in respect of the proposal to refuse.
Section 288.7(7) of the Act provides that the Superintendent may carry out the proposal to refuse a licence when no hearing has been requested.
ORDER
The application of 1104133 Ontario Inc. for a service provider licence that was submitted on January 7, 2015, is refused.
