IN THE MATTER OF the Insurance Act, RSO 1990, c. I.8, as amended (the “Act”), in particular section 288.6;

AND IN THE MATTER OF Dr. James K. Emmett Chiropractic Professional

Corporation (the “Licensee”).

ORDER TO SUSPEND LICENCE

The Licensee is licensed as a service provider (licence # SP15655) under the Act.

Dr. James Emmett (Emmett) is the Director and Officer of the Licensee. Emmett is a chiropractor with a certification of registration by the College of the Chiropractors of Ontario (the College).

A decision by the College dated November 19, 2020 made findings of professional misconduct against Emmett. The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (“FSRA”) has had an opportunity to review the College’s decision and findings.

The Head, a delegate of the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (the “CEO”), believes that the above finding raises concerns regarding the Licensee’s suitability to hold a licence under the Act, and that such concerns can be addressed through an Order for suspension of licence, to which the Licensee consents and undertakes to comply.

ORDER

The service provider licence issued to Dr. James K. Emmett Chiropractic Professional Corporation (licence # SP15655) is hereby suspended for a period of 12 months from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 inclusive.

DATED at Toronto, Ontario,                   , 2021.
