IN THE MATTER OF the Insurance Act, RSO 1990, c. I.8, as amended (the “Act”), in particular sections 392.5 and 407.1;
AND IN THE MATTER OF Lawrence Fuller (“Fuller”).
ORDER TO SUSPEND LICENCE
Fuller is licensed as a life insurance and accident and sickness agent (licence #94017053) under the Act.
On October 9, 2020, by delegated authority from the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (the “Chief Executive Officer”), the Director, Litigation and Enforcement (the “Director”) issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the life insurance and accident and sickness agent licence (licence # 94017053) issued to Fuller and impose an administrative penalty on Fuller.
A Request for Hearing (Form 1), dated October 9, 2020, was delivered to the Financial Services Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in accordance with section 407.1(3) of the Act respecting the Notice of Proposal.
On January 7, 2022, Fuller withdrew the Request for Hearing, and, on January 7, 2022, the Tribunal closed its file in respect of this matter.
This order is made pursuant to a settlement entered into by Fuller and the Director. Fuller has undertaken not to submit an application for licensing under the Act until the latter of
(i) June 12, 2022, and (ii) such time as Fuller has provided evidence, in a form deemed satisfactory to the Director acting reasonably, that he has repaid amounts owing to certain persons or entities or, in the event that Fuller cannot contact such persons or entities, that he has made best efforts to do so.
ORDER
The life insurance and accident and sickness agent licence (licence # 94017053) issued to Lawrence Fuller is hereby suspended until June 12, 2022, for the reasons set out in the Notice of Proposal.
